Iași, June 25, 2024 – The women's tennis tournament WTA 250 Iași Open consolidates its position in the Romanian sports landscape. With the third edition of the competition, UniCredit Bank became the main sponsor of the competition.

UniCredit Iasi Open - WTA 250 is the most important women's clay tennis tournament in Romania. The event will take place at the Ciric Sports Base in Iași, between July 21-26, 2024. The tournament brings together top female athletes from around the world, alongside the main Romanian tennis players.

After two editions in which the Iași Open enjoyed real success, the competition takes an important step: moving from the WTA 125 category to the WTA 250. This jump was made possible with the support of UniCredit Bank, which becomes the official sponsor of the WTA 250 Iași Open .

UniCredit Iasi Open WTA250 announces the presence of top names in women's tennis:

• Mirra Andreeva - the youngest player in the WTA Top 100 (17 years and two months), comes after the best result of her career in Grand Slam tournaments: semi-final at Roland Garros. She is seen in the future as one of the contenders for the most important titles in the circuit.
• Yulia Putintseva - new champion last Sunday at WTA Birmingham. The 34th WTA player claimed her third career title. For the entire duration of the week in Great Britain he lost only one set.
• Arantxa Rus - WTA Hamburg title holder. 12 months ago, the Dutch won the first and, so far, the only trophy on the WTA circuit.
• Tatjana Maria - an experienced athlete with a varied style of play, who in the previous season had no less than 43 victories.
• Ana Bogdan double winner at the Iași Open, with a streak of 10 victories in a row in the competition at Baza Ciric.
• Jaqueline Cristian is making her debut at the Iași Open, she had good results at the last tournaments she started in Romania. She reached the semifinals both in the fall at the WTA Țiriac Foundation Trophy and earlier this year at the Transylvania Open.

Ana Bogdan and Jaqueline Cristian qualified Romania for the Billie Jean King Cup Final Tournament. They signed the sensational return from the draw with Ukraine, after the tricolors were led by 0-2. With a win each in singles and one together in doubles, Ana and Jaqueline set the final score: 3-2 for Romania.
