Three Romanians will play on Friday for the qualification in the doubles final at the Concord Iași Open
On Friday, July 12, six matches are scheduled at the ATP Challenger 100 Concord Iași Open tournament, the four singles quarterfinals and the doubles semifinals. The games on the Central Court start at 13.30.
In the singles, we no longer have any representatives in the competition, after Gabi Boitan and Cezar Crețu were eliminated on Thursday evening in the round of 16, but in the doubles event, 3 Romanians will perform in the two semi-finals on Friday.
Alexandru Jecan is paired with Poland's Szymon Walkow, the two of them going to meet the favorite Polish double 4 of Karol Drzewiecki and Piotr Matuszewski.
On the other side, Cezar Crețu and Bogdan Pavel will play against the couple Luis Britto (Brazil) / Roy Stepanov (Israel).
It should be noted that the pairs in which the Romanian players are engaged produced big surprises in the quarters. Jecan and Walkow eliminated the favorite pair 1 formed by the Colombians Martinez and Rodriguez, and Cezar Crețu and Bogdan Pavel (finalist last year in doubles, in Iasi) defeated, on Thursday evening, close to midnight, the favorite double 2 formed by the Indians Chandrasekar and Kadhe.
Players who qualify for the semifinals will each receive 25 ATP points and €5,740, while the losers in the quarterfinals will be left with 14 ATP points and a check worth €3,340.
The finalists of the doubles event will receive 60 ATP points and 4,050 euros, and the losers of the semifinals will leave Iasi with 36 ATP points and 2,400 euros.
