Romanian Cezar Cretu, important victory in the first round at "Concord Iasi Open" 2020. Schedule for Tuesday, September 15
Romanian Cezar Cretu was the protagonist of the biggest surprise in the first round of the singles event at the "Concord Iași Open", ATP Challenger 100 tournament organized at the Ciric Sports Base in Iași.
Our compatriot managed a very important victory for his career, in front of Hiroki Moriya, a player from Japan ranked with over 860 places above in the ATP rankings. It was 2-6, 6-3, 6-4, for Caesar, who, at this moment, has just climbed 231 places in the ATP Live Ranking, to position 874.
In another match in the first round in which a Romanian player was involved, the final score was unfavorable. Nicholas David Ionel, beneficiary of a Wild Card received on the main draw, was eliminated by the Polish Kacper Zuk, a player from the qualifications, who won 6-2, 6-0.
In the other four games of the first round scheduled for Monday at the "Concord Iasi Open" 2020, the following results were recorded:
