Marius Copil qualified for round 2

Romanian player Marius Copil, 330th place ATP, defeated, on Tuesday evening, in the last match on the central arena of the Ciric Sports Base, the Ukrainian Oleg Prihodko, world number 351, score 6-2, 7-6 (3) and qualified in round 2 at the Concord Iași Open.
The first set was clearly won by Marius Copil, who won 6-2, in 25 minutes, after winning twice on the opponent's service.
The second act was much more balanced, with a break on each side. First, the Ukrainian managed, at 2-2, for Marius to return spectacularly and to lead 5-4. In the tenth game, the Ukrainian canceled a Marius match ball, leading the match to a tie-break. Here, Marius clearly prevailed, with 7-3 and closed the match after an hour and 27 minutes, to the cheers of the spectators present in the stands of the Ciric Sports Base.
Marius Copil will play in the second round with the Brazilian Frederico Silva Ferreira, who defeated in the first round by abandoning last year's champion, Zdenek Kolar. The Czech, favorite 3, withdrew for medical reasons to the score of 4-4 in set 2, after winning the first act with 6-4.

In the last match of the day, Nicolae Frunză, coming from the qualifications, was eliminated by the Italian Luciano Darderi, score 6-1, 7-5.
