Important day for Romanians at the Concord Iasi Open! Gabi Boitan and Cezar Crețu are playing for a place in the quarters
On Thursday, July 11, the last four matches of the round of 16 are scheduled at the Concord Iași Open, an ATP Challenger 100 tournament with total prizes of 120,950 euros.
All four singles round of 16 are contested on the Central Court, starting at 12.00, and the doubles quarters will take place on Court 5, from 13.00.

It will be an important day for the Romanians, as Gabi Boitan and Cezar Crețu can tick off a first in Iași, the first qualification of a representative of our country in the quarters of the Concord Iași Open tournament.
So far, no Romanian tennis player has reached the quarters in the first four editions, Filip Jianu (3 times), Marius Copil, Nicholas David Ionel (twice) and Cezar Crețu (once) reaching the round of 16. Thus, Gabi Boitan and the resident Cezar Crețu can write history both for the tournament and for their careers, by qualifying for the first time in the quarters of a Challenger 100.
Gabi Boitan will enter the field in the third match on "Central", not before 16.30, and Cezar Crețu will play immediately after this match.
Gabi Adrian Boitan, 24 years old, ATP place 382, will meet the Spaniard Martin Landaluce, 18 years old, world number 304, a player who is preparing at Rafael Nadal's Academy, and Cezar Crețu from Iași, 23 years old, ATP place 376, will play 27-year-old Dmitry Popko of Kazakhstan, world number 222. Last week, Popko contested the final of the ATP Challenger 75 tournament in Brașov, being defeated by the Bolivian Murkel Dellien, 3-6, 5-7.
The Kazakh eliminated in Brașov, among others, Ștefan Paloși (in the round of 16) and Filip Jianu (in the quarterfinals). Crețu stopped in the quarters in Brașov, being eliminated by the Bosnian Nerman Fatic. It was the first quarter-final at a Challenger tournament signed by Cezar.
