Eight Romanians and four players from the top 100 in the world on the main draw at the inaugural "BCR Iași Open" edition, tournament with WTA 125 status

After three successful men's editions, the capital of Moldova asserts itself on the tennis map
Romanian feminine. This summer, between August 1 and 7, will take place, for the first time,
the women's tournament WTA 125 - BCR Iași Open, with prizes worth 115,000
dollars and 160 WTA points.
The first edition will bring a strong Romanian presence at the start: Eight Romanians and
four players from the world's top 100 are on the main draw at the edition
inaugural "BCR Iași Open": Ana Bogdan, Irina Bara, Mihaela Buzărnescu,
Alexandra Cadantu-Ignatik, Gabriela Lee, graduate Andreea Prisăcariu (WC),
Briana Szabo (WC) and the winner between Ilinca Amariei (Iasi) and Oana Simion
(Piatra Neamț), all eager for points and looking for trophies. On the list
among the players are also Viktorija Golubic (59 WTA), Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (84
WTA), Clara Burel (95 WTA), Panna Udvardy (100 WTA) but also Kristina
Mlandenovic (120 WTA) winner of Grand Slam doubles titles.
Two players from Romania will be present on the BCR Iași Open qualification table,
we will find out their names on Saturday, July 30.
