After Sunday's schedule was completely thrown off course by rain, qualifying finally got underway on Monday morning as scheduled.
Cristina Dinu, favorite no. 3 of the qualifications and Lavinia Tănăsie are the first victorious Romanians at the BCR Iași Open. The two representatives of our country achieved victories in the first round of the qualifiers and will face each other, also today, in the third match on court 5, for a place in the main draw.
Cristina Dinu passed Camelia Hristea in the first round, score 6-2, 6-0, and Lavinia Tănăsie defeated Andreea Roșca (5th seed), score 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.
Instead, in the first match on "Central", Ștefana Lazar was defeated by the Russian Darya Astakhova, the second favorite of the qualifications, score 6-1, 6-1.
Astakhova will play for a place in the main draw with Australian Olivia Tjandramulia, also today, in match no. 4 from the field 5.
